About IMS

The future of urban transportation is integrated. The power of connectivity drove the personal computer explosion, and now sustainable transportation is poised for a similar advance. IMS (Integrated Mobility Systems) offers an innovative approach to increasing, improving, and integrating our transportation choices. Smart card technology is used as an enabling tool to access and link to a wide range of urban and inter-city transportation options, tourist and other urban services and applications.

Moving the Economy (MTE) is working to support the development of integrated mobility systems in the Toronto region and other regions throughout Canada.

We remain committed to continuing our efforts to help ensure that the smart card systems which are deployed in Canada provide flexibility for future integration between modes and applications, and are consistent with Canada's ITS architecture and/or those of our major partners.
