Transportal.com (working title):
Industry Information Portal for Transportation Professionals

Rationale
There is a mass of relevant information and research on sustainable transportation and New Mobility yet it is not organized in an elegant way for quick and easy access. The InfoMobility Network concept for Transportal.com (working title) is to create a single point of access to key information and support the design, development, and implementation of more sustainable transportation systems in Canada.

Audience

• Professionals in sustainable transportation (representing business, government, labour, academe, and more.)
• Canadians interested in sustainable transportation

Project Objectives

• To provide a one-stop Internet portal for sustainable transportation research, information, and case studies
• To develop an information exchange to serve transportation professionals and business leaders in understanding and developing New Mobility/sustainable transportation options
• To provide information about sustainable transportation to Canadians directly and through links to the traveller information portal

Project Description
This portal will build one window of information for sustainable transportation information by bringing together existing information. It includes:

• News, tips, and facts*
• a searchable database of case studies/best practices, including new and innovative products and systems*
• relevant industry research reports
• a directory of who's who in the sustainable transportation industry*
• key links*
• online stores/marketplace* (products, services, job postings)
• a forum for industry exchange
• *Indicates features currently in development by MTE

Transportal.com site architecture
Content will be grouped into the following sections for easy reading and navigation:

• Forum

The site will also include a number of useful tools including:

• self-publishing to partners to update the Transportal.com databases with their local content; and
• an advanced search engine.
